The Personal Style
Inventory was developed over a period of more than a decade by
industrial psychologists John W. Lounsbury, Ph.D. and Lucy Gibson,
Ph.D. They worked with statisticians, management experts, and
individuals going through career development and transition to
develop, pilot-test, and refine the inventory in a variety of
manufacturing and service organizations. Hundreds of thousands of individuals
representing hundreds of organizations nationwide have taken the
Personal Style Inventory over the past ten years. The dimensions are
well established in scientific research, statistically reliable, and
